Do More with your Business Cards

Business Cards, boring little bits of card, little labels to tell people who you are. No practical use in promoting your business to potential clients. That’s what some people think. Here at Copy Express, we think differently. We think that your business card is a marketing tool just waiting to be used. Here are some neat ideas that can help you transform your business card from “name, rank and serial number” into a lead generating marketing asset:

  • Make it a flyer – One side your personal details, the other side a promotion to get them to try your business for the first time.
  • Make it part of something else. Why not print a card DL size flyer and have your business card as a tear-off section that people will keep long after the flyer is forgotten?
  • Make it funky – if you are in creative business, make it a collectible piece of art that just happens to have your business details on it.
  • Make it practical – In the trades often you have to give out quotes, why not make the back of your business card a simple quote sheet. If you need more space why not use our double height cards.
  • Make it multi-purpose – You need things that have to be tagged, like a price label, why not make a card that can be both a tag and a business card.
  • Make worth hanging on to – make it into a pocket calendar or a useful guide to an area of the market you work in so that they hold on to your details throughout the year.
  • Make them come back to you – Have a café or retail store?  Then why not make a loyalty card with a reward to repeat custom.
  • Make it digital – Put a QR code that has your contact details that computers and smartphones can read and easily upload to an address book. Or put the link to a custom web address that only preferred clients can access.
  • Include an offer (for example “10% discount on your first order”)
  • Drive them to your website to get a free report (where you can collect their details and add them to your email list).

‘What else can you do with my business card?’ I hear you asking.

Make it bigger or smaller – NZ business cards are some of the largest you can get, but sometimes it isn’t big enough. We can make double height or double width and crease it so that it folds to the standard size. There is no reason why you can’t go smaller too, as long as people can still read them.

Make it feel different – We can use a matte card for a softer look and feel and it’s great where you want to use pencils or ink stamps to leave marks on it. The other way is that we can put laminated plastic finish for a high gloss or wax paper look and feel, on one side or both.  But there is no limit – specialty card, cut-out, shapes, folded cards or tear-offs all make your card stand out.

The business card is the first piece of marketing material you hand to clients, so why not make it sell you better. Give us a call to find out ways we can make it work for you.
