Request a QuoteThe standard consumer paper size in New Zealand is A4 which is 210 x 297 mm. It is not uncommon for people to format their documents in US Letter size (8.5 x 11 inches, or 215.9 x 279.4 mm- slightly wider and shorter than A4). This is usually due to not setting the correct settings in your application (many default to the US settings unless changed) or printer driver or obtaining templates or source files from US sources. When we receive a file in this format we will usually scale it to fit, which means shrinking it to fit 210mm wide – but this means that there will be larger margins at the top and bottom (an extra centimeter than would appear from the document).
The paper size convention is quite interesting – with A0 being the standard, and all smaller sizes being 74% of the total area, or half the longest dimension, or the size above. You can read more about it on Wikipedia.
